Successful Spring For Student-Athletes In Classroom

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State student-athletes had a successful spring in the classroom in 2023.
Iowa State had 15 of its 18 sports post a GPA above 3.0 and student-athletes averaged a semester GPA of 3.32 and cumulative GPA of 3.26 for the academic year. A total of 54 student-athletes put up a perfect 4.00 semester GPA while 155 were named to the Dean's List. In addition, 72 percent of student-athletes recorded a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the spring.
Iowa State Athletics also recognized 82 graduates earning their degree in the spring and summer ceremonies last week. Ten earned their master's degree.
The Big 12 Conference recently honored Iowa State student-athletes for their academic work, naming 52 from five winter sports to Academic All-Big 12 teams. Women's basketball and gymnastics led the conference in their respective sports in number of honorees.
