Iowa State Volleyball Greece Check-In

Iowa State volleyball has arrived in Greece! On the first day, the team got off the plane and had their first taste of Greek food. After eating a traditional Greek meal, they had the opportunity to tour and hear the history of the Acropolis and see the Parthenon to shake the jet lag. The team then headed to Mars Hill for views of the city of Athens.

The second day the team visited Sounion, or the Temple of Poseidon. It was then time for the first match of the trip, playing Olympiacos. Iowa State won match 3-0 by set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-16. Iowa State and Olympiacos played on as the Cyclones also won set four 25-22 and set five 25-20. Statistical leaders were Kiersten Schmitt with 10 kills, Jordan Hopp with two blocks, Nayeli Gonzalez with three aces and Brooke Stonestreet with 11 digs.
