Cyclone Club to Hold Third Annual Day of Honor
08.28.2023 | Cyclone Club
AMES, Iowa - Iowa State's Cyclone Club will hold its third annual Day of Honor during Saturday's football game against Northern Iowa. Throughout the game, Iowa State Athletics will proudly recognize Cyclone Club members for their participation, generosity and loyalty.
A group of randomly selected Cyclone Club members, representing all 6,500 club members, will participate in an on-field recognition between the first and second quarters, and Cyclone Club t-shirts will be thrown into the stands throughout the game. Additionally, the Cyclone football team will wear "The Heart of the Nation" stickers on their helmets during the game.
"We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our donors in supporting the Cyclone Club and our 450 student-athletes who proudly wear the Cardinal and Gold," Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said. "Cyclone Club donations, which fund scholarships, facilities, and operations play a critical role in our ability to provide an outstanding academic and athletic experience for our student-athletes. The Day of Honor tradition provides our department the opportunity to thank Cyclone Club members for their unwavering loyalty in generously contributing a record $17.1M to Iowa State Athletics during the past year."
The Cyclone Club spearheads the fundraising efforts for the Iowa State Athletics department and gifts of all sizes directly impact the lives of all ISU student-athletes. Annual Cyclone Club gifts provide student-athletes the opportunity to compete in their sport at the highest level, while preparing them to utilize their Iowa State degree once their athletic careers have concluded. Iowa State Athletics does not receive any State or University funding to operate, making it one of the nation's only financially self-sufficient athletics programs.
Thank you, Cyclone Club members, you are The Heart of the Nation!
