3 – Jeremiah Cooper intercepted his third pass of the season last weekend ... the three interceptions are the most by a Cyclone in a season since Mike Rose had five in 2020 ... he's the first Cyclone with three picks in the season's first two games since David Sims did so in 2009 ... he joins Coastal Carolina's Clayton Isbell as the only players nationally with three interceptions.

4 – Iowa State has allowed a Big 12-low four plays of 20 yards or longer.

25 – Matt Campbell is 25-5 all-time coaching in Ohio ... surprisingly, Campbell never faced Ohio as a head coach when he was at Toledo ... his first meeting against the Bobcats came last season in a 43-10 win in Ames.

40 – Chase Contreraz has connected on three field goals of 40 yards or longer after not having a 40-yard make in his college career previously.

PASS PROTECTION
Iowa State's offensive line is one of seven nationally that has yet to allow a sack this season ... it is the first time ISU hasn't allowed a sack in back-to-back games since 2012.

ON THE BOARD
Wide receiver Jayden Higgins caught 10 touchdown passes when he was playing at Eastern Kentucky ... Higgins got on the board in his second game as a Cyclone, pulling in a 16-yard TD reception on 4th-and-9 in the fourth quarter against Iowa.

A HOMECOMING
Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell grew up about 155 miles northeast of Athens in Massillon, Ohio ... he is one of six Ohio natives on the ISU football coaching staff, which includes defensive coordinator Jon Heacock (Beloit) and linebackers coach Tyson Veidt (Logan) ... seven Cyclone players hail from Ohio, including offensive lineman Jarrod Hufford (Newark), who is just an hour and a half down the road from Athens.
