AMES, Iowa – No. 22 Iowa State (2-2, 1-0 Big 12) defeated No. 30 Illinois State (5-2, 0-0 MIC) by a score of 196.650-194.825 on Friday evening.
"This team did their job tonight. They came out and executed, and they proved that they are continuing to work and not taking their foot off the gas. I am so proud of the way they closed out the meet. To put together two more season high scores on the third and fourth rotation was huge for us. This is going to help carry forward our upward momentum." Head Coach Ashley Miles Greig said.
Iowa State now has back-to-back wins after defeating Illinois State. Kaia Parker set a new career high as well as new season high score for the Cyclones with a 9.925 on her floor routine. This was one of four 9.900+ scores on the night.
The Cyclones had a great showing by junior Josie Bergstrom this evening. She started the night out with a strong vault performance of 9.875 to take home the win on that event. She later followed that up with another 9.875 this one came on the beam. Noelle Adams led the way once again with two more 9.900 scores putting her at six total on the season.

Iowa State started the night on vault where they compiled a team score of 49.100. Josie Bergstrom led the way with her 9.875 score followed by three 9.825 scores coming from Noelle Adams, Kaia Parker, and to round out the event Emilie Hong.

ISU had a great showing on beam with their new season high score of 49.225. The Cyclones have now set season highs in back-to-back meets. This was led by both Noelle Adams and Lauren Thomas with 9.900's. Josie Bergstrom closed out her night with another strong routine that scored 9.875.
