AMES, Iowa – Iowa State has finalized the indoor and outdoor track and field schedule for the 2024-25 season Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Jeremy Sudbury announced Thursday.
Indoor season again kicks off with the BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener Dec. 7 with distance runners traveling to Boston. Iowa State hosts four indoor home meets, beginning with the ISU Holiday Invite Dec. 13-14. The Cyclones also host the Bill Bergan Open Friday, Jan. 17 and the Cyclone Open Friday, Jan. 24. ISU will also return to a familiar track traveling to Fayetteville for the Razorback Invite Jan. 31-Feb. 1 for the first of three indoor meets hosted by Arkansas.
February action continues with the Iowa State Classic Saturday, Feb. 8. The next week ISU travels to the Tyson Invite in Fayetteville Feb. 14-15. The Cyclones split on Friday, Feb. 21 for the Iowa Open and the Arkansas Qualifier.
It will then be time for indoor postseason, with Texas Tech hosting Big 12 Championships. NCAA Championships will be held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center March 14-15.
Outdoor season opens Saturday, March 22 with the Charles Austin Invite hosted by Texas State. Through March 27-29 ISU will compete at the Raleigh Relays at NC State while distance heads to California for the Stanford Invite.
Iowa State travels to the 44 Farms Team Invite April 11-12 hosted by Texas A&M, also the host of NCAA West Prelims. The Bryan Clay Invite is slated for April 16-18 in Azuza, California, while a group will also head to Lawrence for the Kansas Relays April 17-19, the home of the 2025 Big 12 Outdoor Championships. April action closes with Drake Relays April 23-26.
ISU will then send some athletes to the Desert Heat Classic in Arizona before hosting the regular season finale with the Cyclone Twilight in Ames Friday, May 9. Big 12 Championships at Kansas will be held May 28-31. Postseason continues with NCAA West Prelims in College Station May 28-31, while national qualifiers continue onto NCAA Championships June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon.
