Cyclones Conclude Day One of Big 12 Match Play

HOCKLEY, Texas - The Cyclones began the first day of Big 12 Match Play taking on ninth-seeded Cincinnati, where the Bearcats won 4-1. Iowa State did not play in the morning match.

Luke Metcalf was the lone victor for the Cyclones, winning his match against William McDonald with a score of 3&2.

Luke Gutschewski, Owen Sawyer, and Paul Beauvy all came up just short, where each of their matches ended with a score of 1UP.

Zach May was the final competitor for the Cyclones, where he was defeated by Connor McNeely with a score of 3&1.

Iowa State will continue with Big 12 Match Play tomorrow at 7:45 a.m. as they face off against the first seed Arizona State.
