Cyclonitas Tie for Fourth at the MountainView Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Cyclonitas conclude the MountainView Intercollegiate in a tie for fourth with No. 6 Arkansas with a three-round score of one-under-par (863).

No. 42 South Florida's third round was their best of the tournament with a 277 to claim first place. Melanie Green from No. 42 South Florida placed in first beating No. 6 Arkansas' Maria Jose Marin by three strokes.

Senior Liyana Durisic tied for fourth with Toa Yokoyama from UNLV with two rounds in the 60s for a three-round score of 210, her season best. Durisic beat her season low round score of 70 in both the second round (67) and the third round (69). Sophomore Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn tied for eighth with a three-round score of 212. Chul-Ak-Sorn remained in the top ten through all rounds of the tournament.

Ending in a tie for 21, Tess Blair shot a 216 with a 67 in the second round equal to her season best round. Blair had 12 birdies throughout the tournament. Keeley Marx had her best round in the second round of the tournament (73) with four birdies. Pammy Chookaew tied for 75 with a 233 shooting a 76 in both the first and third round.

The Cyclonitas carded a second round 277 tying with No. 42 South Florida for the best round score throughout all rounds of the tournament.

The MountainView Intercollegiate was the Cyclonitas only tournament for the month of March. The Iowa State women's golf team will resume their season in April at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif. The Silverado Showdown is a three-day tournament with 18-holes a day beginning on Monday, April 8 and concluding on Wednesday, April 10.
