Cyclones to Compete in Summer Soccer Leagues

AMES, Iowa – A total of 14 Iowa State soccer athletes are competing in summer soccer leagues across the country.
Cyclones can be found competing across the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), United Soccer League (USL), United Women's Soccer (UWS), League1 Ontario, United Premier Soccer League (UPSL), Illinois Women's Soccer League (IWSL) and the Elite Club National League (ECNL).
Isabella Agrusso, D – Nationals SC (UWS)
Agrusso returns to her home state for the summer, joining Nationals which is the largest travel soccer club in Michigan.
Kasey Cannistraro, GK – Alexandria Reds (WPSL)
Cannistraro will join the Reds, based out of Virginia, this summer and play under coach Scott Senkier who has led the program for the last two summers. The team is 0-1.
Ella Ciardullo, F – UFA Gunners (WPSL)
The Gunners are based in Atlanta and will play throughout the southeast. The Gunners will compete against eight other teams from Atlanta, Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Birmingham. The team is 0-1.
Olivia Edwards, D – Miss Kick F.C. (WPSL)
Miss Kick, founded in 2021, was launched by former soccer player Grace Vella and is based in California. The team consists of up to 30 players who are current collegiate, post- collegiate or ex- professionals. It's so far 2-0-1.
Cadence Fagan, GK – Texas Spurs (UPSL)
The Spurs are headquartered in Allen, Texas and are 0-1 so far on the spring.
Morgan Furmaniak, F – Chicago Inter (IWSL)
Furmaniak is set to compete back in her home state of Illinois. The Inter play as part of a league that is Illinois teams only.
Avery Gillahan, GK – Columbus Eagles (WPSL)
Gillahan and the Eagles are already 2-0-1 on the year and have won their last two contests via shutout.
Lauren Hernandez, MF – Milwaukee Torrent (WPSL)
Lauren and the torrent are 1-0 so far on the summer. The Torrent share a division with a pair of Chicago teams, a team from the quad cities and one from Green Bay.
Nicolasa Jacobs, MF – Beach FC (WPSL)
Jacobs and the Beach are also already under way, as her team sits with a 2-1 record. Jacobs shares a division with teammate Olivia Edwards as the two and their respective teams sit at the top of the five-team conference.
Regan John, MF – Wake FC (USL)
Has played in four games to date for Wake. The team is 4-2 to date.
Lauren McConnell, MF – Vaughan Azzurri (League1 Ontario)
The team is 3-2-2 through a handful of outings. McConnell and her squad compete in a division of 10 teams and are currently in fourth.
Hannah Shaw, MF – Energy FC (ECNL)
The Energy are based out of Oklahoma City and Hannah is the only member that will be part of the ECNL this summer.
Yira Yoggerst, MF – La Roca FC (WPSL)
Yira and her squad are 3-0 with 13 goals scored versus just two goals against. They currently lead the Mountain Conference: Wasatch (out of six teams).
Ella Zimmerman – FC Premier (WPSL)
Zimmerman, a Georgia native, is a part of the Premier team in California and also shares a division with teammates Olivia Edwards and Nicolasa Jacobs. The team is 1-1-1.
Iowa State's season will kick off on August 7 with an exhibition match against Minnesota at the Cyclone Soccer Complex at 6 p.m. As a reminder, all home soccer matches are free to attend.
