Cyclones Finish in Fourth After the First Round of the Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla- The Cyclones finished in fourth, shooting a 279(-1) after their opening round of the Schooner Fall Classic.

Freshman Alexandra Vidal led today's Cyclones as she finished up her first round in second, shooting a five-under 65. Vidal totaled six birdies and carded a 31 on her back nine. Pammy Chookaew finished up her opening round in a tie for sixth as she shot a two-under 68. Chookaew also finished with four birdies on her scorecard to finish up her first round.

Keeley Marx and Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn both finished up with a three-over 73 round to put them both in a tie for 50th. Marx also finished her day with a pair of birdies. Nichakorn Pinprayoon rounded out the Cyclones in 67th, shooting a five-over 75 round.

The leader after the opening round was the sixth-ranked Auburn Tigers, shooting a seven-under 273 round. The Cyclones trail by six heading into the second round, with two Big 12 opponents, TCU and Houston, just a few shots ahead.

Iowa State will tee off at 9:20 a.m. Sunday in the second round of the Schooner Fall Classic.
