Cyclones Conclude The Prestige at PGA West

LA QUINTA, California - The Iowa State men's golf team wrapped up The Prestige at PGA West today, finishing in nineteenth. The Cyclones carded a 291 in the final round, and finished the tournament with a final score of 866 (+14).

Paul Beauvy led the way for the Cyclones, carding a 215 (+2) over the past three days. Beauvy finished all alone in 46th place, and had nine birdies in the tournament. The other four Cyclones all tied for 68th, finishing seven over-par (220). Freshman Luke Metcalf led the team in third round scoring shooting a 71 (E), finishing all but two holes with pars. Metcalf gained 20 spots in the final round and ended the tournament with seven birdies. Owen Sawyer jumped nine spots on the leaderboard after carding a 73 in the third round. Sawyer shot one over-par over the last two rounds, while carding five birdies and an eagle across all three rounds.

Luke Gutschewski dropped eighteen spots after shooting five over-par in the final round. Gutschewski had eight birdies in the tournament. Dianchao Wu shot four over-par in the final round, dropping eleven spots on the leaderboard. Wu carded seven birdies across all three rounds.

San Diego came out on top of the team leaderboard, carding a 823 (-29), sixteen strokes less than any other team. San Diego's Ryan Abuan won the individual race, finishing eleven under-par.

The Cyclones next tournament will be the Colleton River Collegiate down in Bluffton, South Carolina. The event will start on Sunday, March 2nd and conclude Monday, March 3rd.
