Cyclones Fall To No. 33 TCU

Ames, Iowa – No. 53 Iowa State fell to No. 33 TCU on Sunday afternoon, 4-2, in a hard-fought match. The Cyclones drop to 9-7 and 3-5 in the Big 12 with the loss.

In doubles, the Cyclones jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on all three courts but couldn't hang on as TCU won on courts one and three, 6-1 and 6-3, respectively. On court one, Anna Supapitch Kuearum and Cristina Ramos Sierra held a lead over No. 18 Isabel Pascual and Jade Otway, 5-4, but the match was called off.

The Cyclones came back to take a 2-1 lead in singles via wins from freshmen Julia Camblor and Mari Paz Alberto Vilar on courts two and three, respectively. But TCU picked up three straight singles wins on courts one, four and five to clinch the match.

The Cyclones are back in action on Thursday at 1 p.m. CT at BYU.
