Cyclones Bring the Big 12 Championship to a Close

TULSA, Okla.- Iowa State finished the Big 12 Championship in 16th place after four rounds, carding a 306-297-298-292=1193 (+73). The 72-hole score is the seventh-lowest in team history in a conference tournament.Â
Paul Beauvy finishes in a tie for 23rd with a 72-hole score of 290, tied for the fifth-lowest by a Cyclone in a conference tournament. Beauvy tallied seven birdies in the tournament, and he hopes to receive an NCAA Regional bid if the Cyclones don't make it as a team. Owen Sawyer finished the tournament strong, carding an even-par round today to move up nine spots to a tie for 46th place. Sawyer carded four birdies today and a team-high nine in total.Â
Luke Gutschewski finished in 64th place and tallied four birdies in the tournament. Zach May shot two over-par today, and rose two spots to 67th. May carded eight birdies over his four rounds. Dianchao Wu finishes the tournament with a 54-hole score of 239. Luke Metcalf only played in the second round and carded a 78.
#4 Oklahoma State takes home the Big 12 title and earns an automatic bid into the NCAA Regionals, shooting two under-par in the tournament. #5 Arizona State comes in second, where they were nine over-par. The Cowboys' #15 Preston Stout (-3) wins the individual crown, making it his second consecutive Big 12 individual title. Stout becomes the first player since Texas Tech's Ludvig Aberg to win back-to-back Big 12 individual titles.Â
The Cyclones hope to have done enough in the regular season to warrant an at-large big into the NCAA Regionals. The 2025 NCAA Dl Men's Golf Selection Show is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30th at 12 p.m. CT on the GOLF Channel.Â
