Cyclones Fall In Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team fell to Iowa in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series Sunday afternoon. The Cyclones drop to 2-4 on the season following the loss.
In doubles, the Cyclones started hot, getting out to 3-1 leads on every court, but couldn't close out the point. Julia Camblor and Gabriella Kellner moved to 2-0 on the weekend by picking up a 6-4 victory, but the Hawkeyes earned wins on Courts 1 and 3 via tiebreaks to take the 1-0 lead heading into singles.
In singles, the Cyclones fought hard but came up short, with the ultimate difference being the 0-4 singles and 0-6 overall record in tiebreaks. Camblor and Ashlee Narker each forced a third set, but couldn't find a way to secure the victory.
The Cyclones will be back in action Friday, February 27th at home against Colorado.
