Cyclones Sit in Third After The First Round of The Big 12 Championship

DALLAS, TX- After the first round of the Big 12 Championship, the Cyclonitas sit in a tie for third place after shooting a first-round score of five-over par as a team. With two rounds to go, Iowa State leaves themselves in a good situation after a strong start.Â
Nichakorn Pinprayoon stays consistent with her play recently after shooting a one-under par in her first round of the Big 12 Championship. This leaves Pinprayoon in a tie for fourth with two rounds to go. Pinprayoon had a team high of six birdies in the opening round. Isabella Yan did her thing as Yan sits in a tie for 17th after shooting a clean one-over-par round with a couple birdies to help.
Pammy Chookaew started her tournament off with a two-over-par round, placing herself in a tie for 23rd. Chookaew matched Yan, adding a couple birdies to her scorecard as well. Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn started her Big 12 Championship off with a three-over par first round. This placed Chul-Ak-Sorn in a tie for 31st with two rounds to play. Chul-Ak-Sorn followed the pattern as she also snagged a couple birdies in her first round.
Rounding out the Cyclonitas was Alexandra Vidal, who shot an opening round of four-over par, putting her in a tie for 41st.Â
The Houston Cougars lead the Big 12 Championship with a first-round score of three-under par. With two rounds to play, it is still anyone's tournament.
