Cyclonitas in Third After Day One of the Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla. - After day one of the Schooner Fall Classic, three Cyclones shoot a 68 and the Cyclonitas sit in third place (-6). TCU leads the tournament at -10 with the help from three Horned Frogs in the Top-3, as Florida State's Haruhi Nakatani and Oklahoma State's Ellie Bushnell lead the individual race at five-under par. Iowa State shot the eighth-lowest round in school history with a 274, and leads the field in Par 4 scoring (-4).
Isabella Yan shot a career-low round 68 to tie for 13th after the first round. Yan recorded the second round in the 60's of her career today and carded three birdies. Emma Zheng is also tied for 13th, carding the third round in the 60's in just her fourth career round. Zheng has totaled six birdies so far in the tournament, tied for fourth-most in the field. Alexandra Vidal is the third of three Cyclonitas to tie for 13th (-2), tying the fourth-lowest round of her career. Vidal started off with a triple bogey on Hole 1, but rattled off seven birdies in her next 13 holes to climb back into the Top-15. The senior leads the entire tournament in Par 5 scoring (4.33) and birdies (7).
Nichakorn Pinprayoon carded two birdies on the day to tie for 26th (E) after the first round. Krittiya Thanintorndamrongdej is tied for 35th at one-over par, tallying one birdie on the day. Playing as an individual, Aelisa Twiltermsup shot a 75 and carded one birdie to tie for 77th after the first round.
Round 2 of the Schooner Fall Classic will take place tomorrow with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT.
