Several Iowa State women's basketball alumni have continued their playing careers overseas and 2019 graduate Bridget Carleton is gearing up for her eighth season in the WNBA.
Bridget Carleton, Portland Fire (WNBA)/USK Praha (Czech Republic)
Drafted No. 1 by the Portland Fire in the 2026 WNBA Expansion Draft, Carleton moves to the West Coast after spending the better part of the last seven seasons with the Minnesota Lynx. The Chatham, Ontario native helped Minnesota to a 2024 WNBA Commissioner's Cup and a WNBA Finals appearance while being named the Lynx's Most Improved Player. In her seven seasons in the league, she has accumulated 1,430 points, 723 rebounds and 392 assists while shooting nearly 42 percent from the floor and 39 percent from 3-point range. She hit a career-best 111 triples in 2024 on 42 percent shooting from deep and was consistently a top defender for Minnesota, all of which made her a highly sought-after target in this year's expansion draft. The Portland Fire will begin the regular season Saturday, May 9.
Carleton enters the WNBA season fresh off a league championship with USK Praha (Czech Republic Renomia Zenska Basketbolova Liga). She knocked down three 3-pointers and pulled down four rebounds in Game 3 of the finals. Over Praha's season, she averaged 13.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
Beatriz Jordao, T71 Dudelange (Luxembourg Basketball League)
A 2023 graduate of Iowa State, Jordao has helped T71 Dudelange to a 17-1 record in the Luxembourg Basketball League (LBBL), averaging a double-double with 11.7 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. She made a significant impact in her team's recent game against closely-ranked Esch (4th, LBBL). She played a key role in their dominant 86-61 victory by scoring 10 points and securing five rebounds in just 19 minutes of action. This game, considered the highlight of the round between two top four-ranked teams, showcased Jordao's skills and contribution to her team's success as the league's leader. Jordao is also 81-of-150 on attempts from the floor, good for a .540 field goal percentage.
Ines Nezerwa, Aulnoye (French LF2)
Nezerwa averaged 13.7 point per game for Aulnoye, the second-best rate on her team, playing in 18 contests in France. She pulled down 149 rebounds (8.3 rpg), also good for second on the roster. Nezerwa scored six points, pulled down eight rebounds and tallied three assists in Aulnoye's close 68-62 loss to Bihorel.
Alexa Middleton, Nice (French LF2)
Middleton averaged 10.9 points and 3.6 assists in eight games with Nice. In 35 minutes of action in the season finale, she scored 20 points on five 3-pointers to go along with three rebounds and two assists. In Nice's 86-69 win over Le Havre, Middleton came off the bench to score 10 points with five assists in 22 minutes of action.
Lauren Mansfield, North Adelaide Rockets (Australian NBL One)
Although battling injuries throughout this season, Mansfield started in North Adelaide's contest against West Adelaide, scoring 10 points with two triples and going 4-of-4 at the free throw line. She also tallied three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 24 minutes of action.
