MARICOPA, ARIZ.- The Cyclonitas didn't let their foot off the gas once to keep their lead and win the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. Iowa State kept it rolling now, winning back-to-back tournaments for their third win of the year. The Cyclones shot 13 under in their final round to end their tournament total at 26 under, a new season best. Their 54-hole score puts them at the fourth best in school history at 838 strokes, as well as their final round being the seventh best 18-hole score in school history at 275 strokes.
Nichakorn Pinprayoon kept it rolling, shooting another seven-under round on her final day, winning her second tournament of the year. Pinprayoon shot 17-under with a total stroke count of 199, making this the second time in school history a player has broken 200 in 54 holes. Pinprayoon also had a team best of 18 birdies in her tournament as well as just one bogey in 54 holes.
Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn also did her thing, shooting a final round of two under, keeping her in a tie for eighth. Chul-Ak-Sorn finished at five under for the tournament with all three of her rounds being under par. Chul-Ak-Sorn had a clean final round, grabbing three birdies and just one bogey. Pammy Chookaew found her groove in the final round, shooting four under, putting her 54-hole total under par at three under. This put her in a tie for 12th with five birdies in her final round to show.Â
Alexandra Vidal placed in a tie for 20th after shooting one over in her final round, putting her total at just two over. Vidal snagged nine birdies in her tournament as well as one of four eagles in the whole field. Isabella Yan rounds out the Cyclones, shooting a clean, even final round, putting her total score at three over and placing herself in a tie for 25th with three birdies in her final round to help.Â
The Cyclones will head to Columbus, Ohio for the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational next on April, 17-18.
