AMES, Iowa – Iowa State track and field/cross country announces the addition of 2026 national champion Rosemary Longisa.
Longisa joins the Cyclones as a transfer from Washinton State, reuniting with Iowa State women's cross country head coach/assistant track coach Laura Harmon.
Longisa is fresh off taking the 1,500m title at NCAA Outdoor Championships, topping the stacked field by eight-tenths of a second. The middle distance star holds PRs of 4:02.55 in the 1,500m and 4:24.59 in the mile. Longisa has also gone sub-two minutes in the 800m, with a best time of 1:59.71.
This indoor season, Longisa was the national runner-up in the mile, and conference champion in the mile and DMR. In cross country, Longisa earned All-America honors as a freshman. The three-time All-American enters the 2026-27 season as a junior.
