AMES, Iowa – Iowa State swimming and diving head coach Matt Leach announced the schedule for the 2026-27 season on Tuesday afternoon. Leach enters his third season as head coach of the Cyclones with longtime head diving coach Jeff Warrick and third-year assistant Morgan McGhee.
Iowa State is coming off a season in which three swimmers qualified for the National Invitational Championships (NIC) and three student-athletes earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors.
The Cyclones will host their annual Cardinal and Gold intrasquad preseason meet on September 18 to kick off action in Beyer Pool. Iowa State's first three competitions of the regular season will take place on the road, traveling to Nebraska on October 2 for the season opener. ISU will also compete at the Florida State Invite (October 9-10) and at Illinois (October 16-17) for a two-day dual in its first month.
In November, Iowa State hosts South Dakota for its first regular season home meet. The Cyclones will also travel to the east side of the state for the Hawkeye Invite (November 18-21). Cyclone divers will take their winter training trip at the Minnesota Invitational December 3-5 for the final action before the holiday break.
ISU opens 2027 action with an in-state matchup with Northern Iowa on January 9 in Ames before traveling to Houston for the second annual Big 12 Dual meets (January 16-17). The Cyclones will host St. Thomas on January 29 before traveling to Iowa City for the annual Cy-Hawk series meet on January 30. The final regular season dual will send the Cyclones to Lawrence to take on Kansas on February 5.
ISU opens postseason competition at the Big 12 Championships in Greensboro, N.C. on February 23. Zone Diving Qualifications will take place March 8-10 in Austin, Texas while NICs in Ocala, Florida are set for March 11-13. The NCAA Championships will also be held in Austin from March 17-20.
