Chookaew Named WGCA All-American Scholar

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Iowa State senior Pammy Chookaew has been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team. Chookaew is earning the honor for the second-straight season.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must:

Have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
Be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season.
Have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.

Last month, Chookaew was named to the CSC Academic All-District First Team. Chookaew earned WGCA All-American honors on the course earlier this spring.

Chookaew turned in one of the best seasons in program history, as her71.53 stroke average was the second-best in program history. Chookaew has the fourth-best career scoring average at 72.85, while her 135 career rounds played are the sixth-most in program history. She finished her career with a pair of victories, tied for the fourth-most in school history.
