JOHNSTON, Iowa - Iowa State rising junior Isabella Yan led after all three rounds of the 102nd Iowa Women's Amateur, as she won the title in a playoff Wednesday afternoon at Hyperion Field Club.
Yan had a familiar face in the playoff against her, as she beat her teammate, fellow rising junior Nichakorn Pinprayoon, for the title. Both players finished with a six-under par 210 over the three rounds.
In the opening round, Yan shot a five-under 67 and followed with a two-under 70 in the second round. Yan was three-over par going into the 16th hole on the final round. She birdied the 16th and 18th holes to force the playoff.
Pinprayoon shot a two-over par 74 in the first round, but shot back-to-back four-under par 68's in the second and third rounds. She opened her final round with a bogey before rattling off four-straight birdies, while adding a fifth one on the eighth hole.
This marked the second-straight year a Cyclone has won the Iowa Women's Amateur, as Pammy Chookaew won the title in a playoff last year.
With the victory, Yan has earned an automatic berth in the 2026 US Women's Amateur, set for Aug. 3-9Â in Ooltewah, Tenn.
