AMES, Iowa -Â The Iowa State men's golf team kicks off the 2026-2027 season at the Bearcat Invitational. Three Cyclones (Owen Sawyer, Jackson McCommon, Dianchao Wu) placed Top 25 in the 2024 event.Â
Course Information
Coldstream Country Club is one of Cincinnati's premier private clubs, situated on 190 acres, featuring an elite, championship 18-hole golf course. The Coldstream Country Club found a spot on Golf Connoisseur's 100 Most Prestigious Private Clubs in America. Coldstream Country Club's par-71 18-hole golf course measures 7,279. The Dick Wilson-designed golf course that first opened in 1959 has earned a 74.7 course
rating and 140 slope rating.

Key Storylines
-The Cyclones placed Top 3 in four tournaments last year, taking home runner-up at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate and the Tiger Collegiate Invitational.Â
-Owen Sawyer returns for his senior season, leading all six Cyclone returners with a 71.93 stroke average, good for 15th-best in team history. Sawyer built on his  late-season sophomore success coming into his junior season, notching his first career Top-3 finish in the 2026 N.I.T after shooting a career-best  54-hole score (205).Â
-Senior Jackson McCommon added his second Top-10 finish last year at the Git R Done Invitational when he placed 7th, shooting a career-best 54-hole score of 210. He then tied his career-best at the N.I.T. in Tuscon, finishing T14th and shooting another 210.Â
-As a freshman, Julian Geerebaert shot a career-low 68 in the third round of last year's Bearcat Invitational.
-Senior Dianchao Wu shot a 212 over the last 54 holes to finish T32nd at last year's Big 12 Championship. He also tied a career best 54-hole score of 215 en-route to finishing a season-best T24th in the Tiger Collegiate Invitational.Â
