Alberto Vilar Opens Fall At ITA All-American Championships

AMES, Iowa – Mari Paz Alberto Vilar, the nation's No. 66-ranked singles player, looks to start the 2026-27 season strong as she travels to Cary, North Carolina to compete in the ITA All-American Championships.
Alberto Vilar participated in the tournament last year and made history. She became the first Cyclone to reach the main draw, going 5-1 in the tournament.
The junior starts the tournament in qualifying and will begin play Monday.
LAST TIME OUT
Alberto Vilar ended last season with 14 singles wins with four of those wins coming from ranked opponents. She was ranked for 11 consecutive weeks in ITA Singles Rankings to end the season, including a top ranking of No. 45.
ITA ALL-AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The tournament begins Saturday, Sept. 19 and goes through Sunday, Sept. 27.
