Steve Spikes - Hall of Fame Class of 2010

Steve Spikes is, without a doubt, one of the greatest divers in school history. A native of Des Moines, Spikes dominated the Big Eight diving events during his Cyclone career (1970-73), winning seven out of the eight diving events the conference offered during his time.

Highlights:
- Three-time Iowa prep diving champion at Des Moines Hoover
- Four-time Big Eight champion in 3-meter diving (1970-73)
- Three-time Big Eight champion in 1-meter diving (1971-73)
- Only diver in Big Eight history to win seven of eight league diving titles
- Four-time NCAA qualifier
- Earned All-America status in 3-meter diving by placing ninth at the 1973 NCAA Championships
