James H. Hilton Coliseum opened its doors on December 2, 1971 with a men’s basketball victory over Arizona. Since that game, Cyclone teams have provided many memorable moments over the last five decades and Hilton Magic has become a nationwide phenomenon.
To this day, Hilton Coliseum continues as the home of the Iowa State basketball programs, as well as wrestling, volleyball and gymnastics.
Throughout the 2021-22 athletics season, Iowa State will celebrate the history of this magical building through video vignettes and the sharing of memories from you… the fans!
