Xavier Jackson spent the 2025 season at Iowa State as a graduate assistant coach working with the Cyclone offense.
In his lone season in Ames, Jackson worked closely with the running backs as Iowa State finished the season with an 8-4 record.
His running backs group, led by Abu Sama III and Carson Hansen both averaged better than 5.0 yards per carry and surpassed 700 rushing yards each, becoming the first Cyclone duo since 1975 to each top 700 yards in a single season. Hansen earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors after rushing for a team-high 952 yards in 11 games. The Cyclone rushing attack netted 150 yards in the season's final seven games, the longest streak for the program since 2008-09.
Jackson, a St. Louis, Missouri native, spent the previous two seasons at the University of Sioux Falls where he helped the Cougars improve from 3-8 in 2023 to 8-3 in 2024.
During his time in Sioux Falls, Jackson served as assistant running backs coach, while also handling recruiting and equipment duties.
Jackson finished his collegiate playing career at Central Missouri in 2021-22. Prior to UCM, he played at Nebraska Kearney and DuPage (Ill.).
He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Nebraska Kearney in 2021.
