Chris Nook begins his second season as Iowa State's Technical Coordinator for Player Development in 2023. Nook joinedĀ ISU from Arkansas Tech, where he served as an assistant coach the past four seasons. Prior to his time with the Golden Suns, Nook has a background working in Division I volleyball, which included stops at Marquette, Florida, FGCU, VCU and Milwaukee.
As Technical Coordinator, Nook will handle Iowa State volleyballās video and scouting duties.
Nook spentĀ four seasons as an Assistant Coach at Arkansas Tech, helping guide the team to a GAC Tournament title and a trip to the 2021 NCAA Division II Volleyball Championships. During his time in Russellville, Arkansas, Nook helped guide ATU to a 62-39 record.
Prior to ATU, Nook was the technical coordinator at Florida for three seasons, being a member of the Gatorsā staff when they reached the National Championship match in 2017 and claimed a pair of SEC regular season titles.Ā
In 2014, Nook returned to his native Wisconsin to serve as the Director of Operations at Marquette, which he did after serving one year each as a volunteer coach at Florida Gulf Coast (2013 season) and VCU (2012). During his time at FGCU, he also served as an assistant coach for the Florida High Performance International Youth team and the USA South Volleyball Club.
A native of Franklin, Wisconsin, Nook graduated from Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2011 with his Bachelorās Degree in Political Science and earned a Master of Business degree in Athletic Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
