Seth Hestness is in his first season as tight ends coach at Iowa State reuniting with Cyclone offensive coordinator Tyler Roehl, who he worked alongside at North Dakota State.
Hestness, a Mason City, Iowa native and Wartburg graduate, spent the 2025 season in the same position at Army, helping the Black Knights win the Wasabi Fenway Bowl.
Before coaching at Tennessee State as the tight ends and fullbacks coach in 2024, Hestness had a two season stint with Roehl at North Dakota State from 2022-23.
During his time in Fargo, NDSU went 23-7 and reached the FCS Championship game in 2022 and the semifinals in 2023. He assisted coaching the offensive line, as well as tight ends and fullbacks for the Bison.
NDSU offensive linemen Cody Mauch and Grey Zabel, a first round pick, were selected in the NFL Draft.
Following his playing career at Wartburg, Hestness coached for the Knights (2017), Liberty (2018) and Minnesota (2019-21).
He was a three-year letterwinner at Wartburg and finished his career with multiple playoff appearances.
Hestness earned his bachelor's degree in fitness management from Wartburg (Iowa) in 2017.
