COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Iowa State volleyball team lost to Missouri, 0-3 Saturday night in the Hearnes Center. Leading the way for ISU were Stacy Nicks and Mandi Harms, who led the team with six kills a piece. The loss drops the Cyclones to 2-20 overall and 0-12 in conference play.
Missouri's Ashlee Johns recorded a game-high 14 kills in only 20 attacks to help the Tigers improve to 17-4 on the season and 8-4 in Big 12 action. Johns also led the Tigers with her .600 hitting percentage from the floor along with recording two blocks on the night.
Senior outside hitter Stacy Nicks continues to show her blocking talents as she notched five blocks in the match, including three solo stops. The Spencer, Iowa native's three solo blocks against the Tigers brings her career total to 77 and moves her up to seventh on the ISU all-time career solo blocks chart.
Also having a strong defensive showing for Iowa State was freshman Julie Mitchell. MItchell ended the contest with three blocks and remains second on the team with 78 blocks in 2000.
The Cyclones will be back on the road Wednesday, as they travel to Lawrence, Kan. to face the Jayhawks. First serve will be at 1 p.m. in the Horejsi Family Athletics Center.
