COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) - Bernard King scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half as Texas A&M pulled away from Iowa State late for a 66-54 victory Wednesday night.
After scoring just two points in the first half and picking up his third foul less than a minute into the second half, King responded with eight unanswered points to erase a 30-29 halftime deficit.
King scored six more as part of a 17-3 A&M run midway through the period. The run gave the Aggies (13-9, 5-6 Big 12) a double-digit lead they never relinquished.
Keith Bean posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Bradley Jackson scored 12 points.
Jake Sullivan led Iowa State (12-10, 2-9) with 15 points. Adam Haluska added 12 and Jackson Vroman had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Iowa State lost its fourth straight game as the Cyclones shot just 30 percent in the second half and made just 2-6 from 3-point range. The Cyclones shot 52 percent in the first half.
Iowa State did not make a single shot from the field for more than eight minutes as the Aggies sealed the game with its big run.
