AMES, Iowa - Erin Boeve had 17 kills but Iowa State fell, 3-1 (22-30, 27-30, 30-23, 24-30), to Texas A&M on Wednesday night in College Station, Texas.
With the loss, Iowa State falls to 15-15 overall and 8-11 in Big 12 play. Texas A&M moves to 16-12 overall and 9-10 in conference play.
Joining Boeve in double-figures were Katie Jessen (16 kills), Jessica Klein (13 kills) and Meghan Ferrie (11 kills). Big 12 digs leader Katie Churm held her lead, recording 17 digs compared to the Aggies' Holly Clay, who had 13 for the home team. Clay was just behind Churm heading into the match.
Amanda Craig eclipsed 2,500 assists in her career, recording 54 in the loss. Craig now has 2,545 in her career.
After falling behind 2-0 in the match, Iowa State fought back to claim the third game, 30-23. ISU out-hit the Aggies, .459 to .167 in game three to win and close the gap to 2-1.
The Cyclones jumped out to a 10-8 lead after Jessica Klein pounded a kill on the assist from Craig. A&M was able to score 14 of the next 17 points to take control of the match. A kill by Christi Hahn ended the match.
Iowa State will finish the regular season on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they host Kansas. The Cyclones will honor their four seniors in a ceremony before the match.
