DENVER, Colo. -- The No. 11 Iowa State gymnastics team topped 12th-ranked Denver on the road (195.675-194.975) to improve to 6-1 overall.
The Cyclones scored a season-high 49.3 team on vault with sophomore Janet Anson taking first place with a season-high score of 9.95. Earning a career-high score and tying for second was junior Erin Dethloff (9.925).
Iowa State outscored the Pioneers on bars, 48.70-48.65. Leading ISU was sophomore Ashley Alden, who scored a career high to share first-place honors with Denver's Cassidy Willingham (9.80). Dethloff and Pioneer Stephanie Lorber tied for third(9.75).
Alden set another career high to take first place on beam (9.875), while Dethloff and fellow junior Laura-Kay Powell shared third (9.80). Senior Abigail Richey marked a season high to finished fifth (9.75).
Dethloff notched a season-high score on floor to tie for first with Denver's Sasha Sullivan (9.925).
Dethloff claimed the all-around title with a season-high score of 39.400. Dobyns took second (39.20) and Powell grabbed third (39.0).
Iowa State will next play host to No. 9 Nebraska Friday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum.
