"I felt like we played pretty well," said Iowa State head coach Christy Johnson. "We had some lapses in the second game but we continued to battle. There were a few big points in which we rallied back-and-forth with them, but they ended up going there way."
Jessen was the lone Cyclone in double-figures with Erin Boeve, Jessica Klein and Lauren Cummings tallying nine each. Katie Churm had a team-high 10 digs for the Cyclones, becoming just the third Cyclone to record 400 digs in back-to-back seasons.
The Longhorns were led by Destinee Hooker and Jennifer Todd, who had 14 kills each.
