Mockler Earns "Good Works" Team Honors

DALLAS?Iowa State cross country athlete Jenny Mockler was named to the 2006 Big 12 Conference Fall Sports “Good Works” Team in recognition of community service efforts by league student-athletes announced Tuesday.

Mockler is a senior from Formby, England, double majoring in health and fitness management and criminology with a minor in psychology. She earned Academic All-Big 12 second-team honors this season and is currently the 2006-07 president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council for ISU athletes.

The Fall Sports “Good Works” Team is made up of 12 students, one from each member institution. Each student-athlete was selected by their institution for recognition based on significant community service, good academic standing and participation in a Big 12 sponsored sport. The fall team consists of athletes from football, cross country, volleyball and soccer. This is the inaugural fall team and there will also be a winter and spring team.
