High Jump Champion Synacek Signs with ISU

AMES, Iowa -- Two-time Drake Relays high jump champion Tiffanie Synacek has signed a national letter of intent to attend Iowa State next year. Synacek, who is a senior at Council Bluffs-Thomas Jefferson High School, is the defending Iowa prep Class 4-A state champion after winning the competition with a jump of 5-6 in 2006. Synacek owns a career best of 5-9 1/2 outdoors. She won the Iowa State High School Indoor Invitational last March in Ames with a meet record leap of 5-8 1/2. Synacek cleared 5-8 to win the 2006 Drake Relays title. She cleared 5-9 to win the Drake crown in 2005.
