CORVALLIS, Ore. - The fourth-ranked Iowa State gymnastics squad will be competing in its first-ever Super Six finals, Friday, April 21 at 9 p.m. CST in Gill Coliseum on the campus of Oregon State University.
The Cyclones will begin the meet on floor, an event where ISU holds a No. 2 ranking (49.310). Iowa State all but sealed its fate with a 49.300 on floor on Thursday in the fifth of six rotations.
Junior Janet Anson earned first-team All-American status on vault (T3, 9.875) and floor (T2, 9.900) and will compete in the individual championships on Saturday at 9 p.m. CST in Gill Coliseum.
In a blind draw conducted on Thursday night following the second session, Anson will compete third on vault and as the 12th and last competitor on floor on Saturday. The Kansas City, Mo., native took national runner-up honors on vault at last year's individual championships.
