The event to raise money and awareness was held Feb. 2-3 and raised over $47,000 to help the American Cancer Society save lives and empower people to fight back against the disease.
Anson has also been on the SAAC Community Outreach Committee as a sponsor for YMCA Healthy Kids Day, a project promoting fitness fun for kids.
The Big 12 Winter Sports “Good Works” Team is made up of 12 students, one from each member institution. Each student-athlete was selected by their institution for recognition based on significant community service, good academic standing and participation in a Big 12 sponsored sport. The winter team consists of athletes from men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, gymnastics, and wrestling. This is the inaugural winter team and there will also be a spring team.
