Cyclones Travel to UNI-Dome Open

AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State women's track and field team will hit the road on Friday for the UNI-Dome Open in Cedar Falls. A small group of Cyclones will compete in the meet while the majority of the squad rests for the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships held at the Lied Recreational Center in Ames on Feb. 23-24.

ISU sprinters Leia Jackson, Megan Nielsen and Shaylyn Wiarda. Nielsen will kick off running events for the Cyclones, competing in the 60-meter hurdles at 3:45 p.m. Jackson will compete in the 60-meter dash and also be looking to crack the 59-second mark in the 400-meter dash. Wiarda will make her debut at the UNI-Dome Open in the 600-meter run at 6:05 p.m.

Distance runners Alison Clarke, Erin Penticoff and Kaylee Small will all be competing in the 800-meter run hoping to improve upon their season best times. Dawn Caffrey and Dana Peters are scheduled to compete in the mile run at 4:25 p.m. Angie Lageschulte will compete in the long jump.

A recap and complete results will be posted at the conclusion of the meet. The final running event is scheduled for 9 p.m.
