AMES, Iowa-With one week to go before the Big 12 Championship, the Iowa State men's track and field team traveled to Cedar Falls, Iowa, Friday and took six top-10 finishes, one victory and set three season bests at the UNI-Dome Open.

Cyclone Jared Lewis had a breakout day after finishing first in the 60-meter dash, running a 6.90. His first-place finish is his highest in the event this year. Freshman David Dawson recorded another top-10 finish in the event, running a career best 7.09 to place 10th. Lewis followed his win in the 60 dash with a runner-up finish in the long jump, with a leap of 23-2 ? .

Junior Stefan Tauber and senior Neil Hines also placed in the top 10 in the long jump, with efforts of 22-4 ? and 21-1 ?, respectively. Tauber earned fifth and Hines finished 10th. Tauber surpassed his season best with his mark.

The hurdles brought success for ISU when senior Kellen Burl ran a personal best 8.05 to take second place in the 60-meter hurdles. His previous best came at the ISU Open last month.

The Cyclones will try to put their mark on the indoor season when they host the Big 12 Championship on Friday and Saturday at the Lied Recreation-Athletic Facility in Ames, Iowa.
