Freshman Jenna Caffrey will look to clinch her bid for a lane in the NCAA Championships. Last week, Caffrey finished fourth at the Big 12 Conference meet, running in the 60-meter hurdles, and hit a provisional-qualifying time of 8.42 seconds.
Standout jumper Agata Kosuda hopes for a season-best performance in the triple jump to help her get off the bubble. Kosuda's leap of 42-09 1/2 at the Big 12 meet was the best indoor jump in Cyclone history. The nation's top 15 qualifying jumps will be guaranteed a spot in the national championships, and Kosuda currently ranks 17th.
Freshman Lisa Koll is coming off a strong performance at the Big 12 Championships. Koll placed second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:31. The cross country All-American currently stands in the top 20 and will try to improve on her time to earn an NCAA berth. The freshman will also be competing Saturday in the 3,000-meter run. Koll's career-best time stands at 9:33, and she hopes to improve on that mark.
Cyclone star Rebecca Williams will not be competing in the meet. Williams recorded a time of 8.19 seconds last week in the 60-meter hurdles at the Big 12 Championships. That time was the best 60-meter hurdle effort in school history and currently ranks eighth in the nation, which should be enough to qualify her for the NCAA Championships.
