“Going to nationals hasn't really sunk in yet, but I am excited to move on to another race,” said Caffrey. “When I first got in the blocks I wanted to relax myself but still be able to come out aggressive. Making the national meet was a goal I had set for myself in the beginning of the season and it feels great.”
In a tight race loaded with talent from across the region, Caffrey's 13.59 second effort edged Texas A&M's Lindsey Adams for the fifth spot, vaulting her automatically into the NCAA national meet. ISU's fastest freshman hurdler has exploded in her opening season with the squad.

Cyclone Agata Kosuda finished sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 42-1 1/2, making her eligible for an NCAA at-large berth. The senior is a likely candidate to earn a trip based off of her leap of 43-3 at the Big 12 Conference outdoor meet.
