Gymnastics Faces NCAA's Best In 2008

AMES, Iowa - Three 2007 Super Six teams await the Cyclones this season, including three-time defending national champion Georgia. The 2008 schedule is complete and home match-ups with national finalists Nebraska and Stanford headline a grueling docket.

The Cyclones sprint out of the gates by welcoming 2007 Big 12 Champion Nebraska Jan. 11, for a season-opening meet at Hilton Coliseum. After facing Big 12 foe Missouri and Minnesota in consecutive road meets on Jan. 18, and Jan. 26, respectively, ISU plays host to Stanford on Feb. 10. They'll then make a trip to Norman, Okla., to face the Sooners.

Two of the next three meets will take place in the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series. The Cyclones will try to stretch their current run of eight straight victories against Iowa. The Hawkeyes will visit Ames on Feb. 22, before the Cyclones travel to Iowa City on March 7. Sandwiched between the two intrastate match-ups is Senior Day, as Minnesota migrates south to Hilton Coliseum on March 2.

The Cyclones finish the regular season on the road against defending Super Six teams. They'll first head to Lincoln to face Nebraska on March 16, before challenging Georgia on March 21.

The Big 12 Championships will take place March 29, in Norman while the NCAA Regionals are set for April 12. Finally, the Cyclones will eye a return trip to Athens, Ga., for the NCAA Championships, scheduled for April 24-26.
