Despite increasing its student section over the summer by 800 seats for the 2007 football season, the “sold out” sign is once again hanging at the Iowa State Athletics Ticket Office. ISU officials announced Tuesday that all 7,800 student football seats held for 2007 have been sold. This sets an all-time ISU record for the most student football tickets sold in a season.
The athletics department also announced plans to allow students still wanting to obtain football season tickets to purchase a hillside season ticket for the student season ticket price of $125 ($25 less than the hillside price).
“We're going to allow ISU students (with a valid student ID) to continue purchasing season tickets for the student season ticket price of $125 to get general admission seating on the hillsides of Jack Trice Stadium,” Iowa State's Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said. “We've sold more than 900 student season football tickets in the last 5-6 days to exhaust our supplies. We believe there is still more demand out there from the student body and we want to try and accommodate as many of them as possible.”
“That's (additional capacity) the beauty of the hillsides. The northeast hill at Jack Trice is adjacent to the student seating, so students buying hillside tickets can still feel a part of what is typically the most boisterous corner of the stadium,” Pollard said. “Student enthusiasm for the coming season is at an all-time peak. Thankfully, we're able to accommodate this demand in a timely manner.”
Students should order these hillside tickets by stopping by the Athletics Ticket Office (at Jack Trice Stadium) or calling (515) 294-1816. Online orders for these student hillside tickets are not available.
