Each Tuesday leading up to the 2008 gymnastics season, we have gotten to know a different ISU gymnast by asking them 20 questions. This is the last week, so please meet Jacquelyn Holmes, a freshman from Charlotte, N.C.

1. What's your favorite thing about being a student at Iowa State?
Being a Cyclone.

2. What's your favorite thing about being a gymnast at Iowa State?
Having such great friends.

3. Why did you choose Iowa State?
I fell in love with the girls, coaches, and campus.

4. When did you begin participating in gymnastics?
Two-years old.

5. Who's your funniest teammate?
Jennio (Jennifer Hornbaker).

6. What's your favorite sport other than gymnastics?
Football.

7. Do you have any hidden talents?
I sing.

8. Tell us something the average person wouldn't know about you...
I've been inside the White House before.

9. What's your favorite class?
Journalism and mass communications.

10. What's your favorite TV show?
Cosby Show.

11. When I'm not at class or practice, I'm probably...
(what do you like to do in your free time?)
Socializing with friends.

12. Do you have any pre-meet rituals?
Listen to some music.

13. What is your favorite part about competing in Hilton Coliseum?
My favorite part is the crowd.

14. What is the most fun you've had on an ISU gymnastics road trip?
I haven't experienced the road trips but I'm pretty sure we will be laughing the whole time!

15. What's the best advice you've ever been given?
“Live today fully, for tomorrow is not promised.”

16. If you could have dinner with any three people (living or deceased), who would they be?
Ms. Cleo, Bill Clinton, J. Holiday

17. Where would your dream vacation be?
I would love to go to South Africa.

18. You're trapped on a deserted island, but can have three items... what are they?
My friends, cell phone, and gum.

19. Tell us something you'd want us to know about your teammates...
My teammates are the funniest bunch of girls I have ever met. Other than them being so funny, they are all wonderful people who will be a part of my life forever.

20. How would you describe this team?
This team is like a family, you can go and talk to any one of them with no problem! I couldn't ask for a better team!
