It is that time of year where the warm weather is going away and here comes the cold! The leaves are changing to beautiful colors and are slowly falling off the trees. Even though it might be cold outside, it is definitely getting hot in the gym! We are in the middle of preseason right now and usually everyone expects to be going through a rough patch around this time, but everyone is getting better and better each day. In the gym we are now doing full routines on all the events and putting our soft vault landings onto hard landings.
For me it has been an easier adjustment this preseason than last year. This time last year I was freaking out about doing routines and kind of just going with the flow. I was not really concentrating on what I should be doing to make my routines the best they could be. This year, I already feel more confident in my routines and we are just are getting started! My favorite part of gym right now is learning everyone's new floor routines. We have a handful of girls who have cool, new floor routines and whenever I am not up to go on an event, you can probably catch me dancing to someone's floor routine.
Our first intrasquad is coming up Oct. 30, and everyone is excited to show their routines. For all of you out there who do not know what an intrasquad is, it is an in-house meet where we get judged on our routines. They are really fun because we get to dress up and act as though it is a real meet.
Halloween is around the corner and we are all excited! Our team's tradition on Halloween is to dress up by class as a theme and all get together. I have no clue what everyone is going to be, but I am sure it will be something wacky and crazy! Also, a few of us brave gymnasts are going to go to the “Haunted Forest” in a couple of days. Wish us luck because I was terrified last year! Well that is all that is going on in our Cyclone lives. Talk to you soon and GO CYCLONES!
