Cyclones 11th at Wolf Pack Classic

RENO, Nev.- The Iowa State men's golf team shot a final round 298 this afternoon to place 11th in the 13-team Wolf Pack Classic in Reno, Nev. ISU shot a 54-hole 882 total, one stroke ahead of the Air Force Academy.

New Mexico State took home the team title with an 847 tally, five shots ahead of second-place Arizona.

The Cyclones were led by freshman Thomas Lathrop, who tied for 21st with a 217 total (73-74-70). Lathrop's final-round 70 (2-under par) was the low score for the Cyclones this afternoon. Junior Ben Herrera tied for 26th at 218 (71-71-76) and freshman Nate McCoy tied for 42nd at 222 (76-69-77).

Wichita State's Dustin Garza claimed medalist honors with an 11-under 205 tally. Roger Sloan of UTEP and Kevin Lozares of New Mexico State tied for second at 208.

The Cyclones wrap up their fall schedule, Oct. 27-28 at the Herb Wimberley Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M.
