Cyclone Club Members Receive Hospitality Benefits

“There's just a passion for Iowa State,” says Dan Barrett. Barrett, a long-time fan and Cyclone Club member, frequently drives from St. Louis, Mo. during the basketball season to get a dose of Hilton Magic.
This season, snow and bitterly cold temperatures haven't stopped Barrett and hundreds of other Cyclone fans from gathering before select men's basketball home games at Stage Door. Since the days of Coach Johnny Orr, Stage Door provides club members a place to socialize, create bonds and even talk a little basketball.
“Stage Door is a part of the basketball game day experience for many of our fans and their families,” said Joan Bowles, Iowa State's associate athletics director for development.
“Many who've attended this event since its beginning now bring their children or grandchildren,” Bowles said. “We know our members take great pride in ISU basketball.”
Hosted in the Scheman Building, directly west of Hilton Coliseum, Stage Door opens two hours prior to tip-off and open one hour immediately following the game. Cyclone Club members contributing at the Gold Level ($1,000) or above are eligible to attend and can bring a party of six. Snacks, meals and beverages (hot/cold drinks and alcohol) are available for purchase.
Two Stage Door events remain for the 2007-08 men's basketball season, Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 4 p.m. versus Kansas and Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m. vs. Kansas State.
A pre-game function such as Stage Door is only one of the many benefits Cyclone Club members receive when supporting the department's annual giving program. Donations to the Cyclone Club fund student-athlete scholarships, facilities, equipment, travel recruiting and other operational expenses for ISU Athletics.
