Hilton Coliseum Court Gets A Facelift

AMES, Iowa? Jack Trice Stadium in not alone in getting a makeover for the upcoming 2008-09 school year. The Hilton Coliseum playing court was recently refinished and repainted with the new primary athletics mark and “Cyclone” font.
The addition of the new logo at midcourt is the biggest change Iowa State fans will see while attending a Cyclone hoops game next season. A new 3-point line was also added. The men's 3-point line will move back a foot to 20 feet, 9 inches for the 2008-09 season. The women will continue to use the standard 19 feet, 9 inch mark.
“The playing surface in Hilton Coliseum is one of the most high profile pieces of equipment we have,” said Nick Britton, ISU's assistant athletics director for facilities. “It was one of our first priorities in our upgrades this summer.”
