AMES, Iowa ? Iowa State hit .357 as a team and got a rally-scoring three-set record 24 digs from Ashley Mass to defeat Drake, 3-0 (25-10, 25-13, 25-15), Saturday afternoon at the Iowa State Tournament.
Mass was everywhere for the Cyclones (7-3), digging attack after attack as ISU held Drake (7-3) to a .029 hitting percentage for the match. Mass' 24 digs broke the school record of 23 previously held by her teammate Kaylee Manns.

Victoria Henson had 10 kills to reach double-digits for the fifth straight match. Jen Malcom followed Henson with seven kills and no errors on 13 attacks to hit .538. In all, 10 Cyclones had a kill in the match as every player saw time for ISU.
The Bulldogs were led by Angela Bys, who had 10 kills and five digs. Alana Wittenburg had 14 digs for Drake.
In the first set, Iowa State hit .360 and used six kills from Henson and seven digs from Mass to cruise to the 25-10 win.
The Cyclones broke away from the Bulldogs after a 2-2 tie in the second set, scoring eight of the next 10 to gain control. Kaylee Manns had 13 assists and ISU ripped 15 kills while hitting .314 to win 25-13 heading into intermission.
ISU kept up the strong play after the break, scorching the ball for a .395 hitting percentage in the third set to secure the sweep. Rachel Hockaday had four kills in the set as ISU improved to 2-0 in the tournament.
The Cyclones will face Xavier in the tournament's final match, which is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Iowa 3, Xavier 1
AMES, Iowa- Iowa stormed back after dropping the first set to defeat Xavier, 3-1 (22-25, 25-11, 25-14, 25-19), in Saturday's first match at the Iowa State Tournament.
The Hawkeyes (4-4) out hit the Musketeers, .289 to .081, including a .583 hitting percentage in the second set to rebound after dropping the first frame.
Catherine Smale had a double-double for the Hawkeyes, ripping 17 kills and 14 digs. Megan Schipper had 13 kills and Katie Kennedy hit .471 with eight kills for the Hawkeyes.
Xavier (5-3) was led by 12 kills from Kelly Ruth in the loss.
Xavier drops to 1-1 in the tournament while Iowa improves to 1-1.
